SummaryProvides financial and statistical information to senior leadership, management, staff, and external customers in compliance with internal and external requirements by managing, monitoring, and accessing the organization's financial and other systems. Maintains financial records and systems in accordance with GAAP, Hospital policies, and the Healthcare Audit Guide. Directly supervises the work of accounting staff members. Job Duties
- Prepares the monthly consolidated financial reporting including financial statements, variance analysis, statistical, and financial ratio reporting. Completes assigned quality control checks and reviews.
- Manages and supervises the day-to-day operation of the work of Senior Accountants, Staff Accountants, and Accounting Clerical personnel as assigned including developing priorities, managing workload, conflicts, and improvements in processes.
- Assists in the annual external audit including planning; preparation of work papers; and supporting audit schedules, preparation/review of Quarterly Footnote Reports and Annual Audit report, and direct interfacing with auditors to answer questions; clarifies issues in accordance with GAAP and the Healthcare Audit Guide.
- Manages, coordinates, and maintains accounting of applicable finance responsibilities for all entities of the network (including acquisitions).
- Develops, maintains, and updates Finance Department policies and procedures.
- Reviews new accounting standards and accounting standards updates; ensures proformas are prepared and implemented.
- Operates and maintains the financial and statistical computer systems keeping systems current on organizational changes, volume, and other statistical measures. Participates in applying software and hardware upgrades to systems as appropriate.
- Bachelor's Degree in finance or accounting.
- 7 years of experience in finance and
- 5 years of experience in a managerial role.
- Ability to understand the interrelationships between the financial systems and the various other systems and inputs that impact the financial systems.
- Ability to supervise and assist staff while also effectively managing own work and priorities.
- Proficiency with MS Office products including Word and Excel.
- CPA - Certified Public Accountant - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
- Master's Degree in finance or accounting.
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
