Serendipity Shops in Philadelphia, PA is looking for one supervisor to join our 9 person strong team. We are located on 8506 Germantown Ave.
Position:
Retail Supervisor(part/full time)
Approx. 30 Hours per Week
Job Summary:
Serendipity is a family owned brick and mortar store with online presences that provides those in and around the area a great shopping destination. We specialize in retail clothing(women's, men's, and kids), gifts, décor, and a one of a kind shopping experience! We are proud to say that we have become a staple for locals and travelers as the “go to place” for clothing and gifts alike. As a supervisor in the Serendipity family you will not only be earning but learning valuable life and business skills. You will be controlling various aspects of a specific store and working closely with the manager on implementation of new procedures, sales goals, weekly analysis, and overall improvement of the sales team and store.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Knowledge and experience performing all aspects of a sales associate position
- Working with and teaching(hands on) with floor associates on new company procedures(increase overall quality of work and customer experience)
- Work with/without managers in organization/display of merchandise
- Oversee that company policies are being performed (cleaning, trash removal, cash drawer counting, basic cleanliness of store, COVID 19 safety procedures)
- Communication of tasks and sales goals with other associates
- Organization
- Communication with management of area(s) of potential improvement and customer feedback(positive/negative)
- Assistance in implementation of inventory and sales tracking POS system
- Process incoming merchandise and backend inventory management
- Updates on customer requests, merchandise inventory monitoring(advanced notice when inventory is low or a transfer is required)
- Bank transactions/cash restock on schedule days
- Preparation of weekly analysis as to why and why not sales goals were attained(e.g. Poor weather/big event)
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the retail industry as a retail floor associate or customer service associate familiar with customer interaction, POS system utilization, and general retail skills.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a supervisory role, including managing/teaching others, meeting sales goals, working closely with management to implement improvements
- High school diploma or GED certificate and college degree recommended

- Reliable/responsible
- Provide customers with a great shopping experience(which starts with you)
- Ability to stand, sit, kneel, crouch, reach for extend periods of time
- Excellent communication skills with customers and other team members
- Knowledge on complex math and logical reasoning
- Ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment
- Product and store development through observation and communication with managers
- Occasional climbing of a small ladder
- Able to work weekdays/weekends/holidays
- Able to frequently lift 25 lbs. And on occasional instances lift 45lbs.
- Work with your hands and senses to help organize store merchandise as directed
- Follow company policies
- Advanced Computer skills (POS program, word, excel, email, etc.)
