Pen Argyl Borough is seeking a dynamic and experienced Borough Manager to lead our community into the future. Our long-tenured manager is retiring after a successful career, and we’re looking for a motivated, skilled professional to continue our tradition of strong, effective local government. Nestled in the heart of the Slate Belt, Pen Argyl is a close-knit community with a proud history and a bright future. Though small in size, our borough offers a welcoming atmosphere, dedicated staff, and an engaged citizenry committed to progress and preservation alike. The Borough Manager serves as the chiefadministrative and financial officer of the Borough and oversees all day-to-day operations, including but not limited to administrative, finance, public works, and a wastewater treatment plant. The Manager supervises all Borough employees and implements policies as directed by Borough Council. Pen Argyl Borough operates under the direction of an eight-member Borough Council and a Mayor. Council members are elected by ward on a four-year rotating basis, while the Mayor is elected at large.
Candidates should have (1) municipal experience (2) knowledge of modern local government management principles; (3) strong financial skills with experience preferred; (4) bachelor’s degree (preferred); and (5) strong organizational and communication skills.
