The Floor Technician is responsible for making sure that all floor surfaces are properly cleaned and maintained as per manager’s direction. The incumbent will also perform other duties as outlined below:

Scrub floors to remove all soil and finish to base of floor material.

Remove splash marks from baseboards, walls and doors.

Must be able to strip and refinish floors properly as per manager’s direction; refinish floor to glossy, depth shine.

Must be able to extract and bonnet carpets.

Assists in cleaning of emergency spills observed or upon request.

Maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and reports the need for repairs to equipment, furniture, building and fixtures.

Assist in maintaining main housekeeping storage in a clean manner.

Perform necessary wall washing tasks, as assigned.

Move furniture on a non-routine basis, as assigned.

Report to each fire and/or drill to assist in transporting residents or directing traffic.

All Floor Techs must be cross-trained in housekeeping and laundry in order to fill in when necessary.

The evening Floor Tech must be available to prepare resident rooms upon discharge or admissions.

Evening Floor Tech must pull trash twice during the shift.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Training/Work Experience:

Education: Sufficient to demonstrate functional literacy

Certificate/Licenses: None.

Work Experience: Prior maintenance experience in an institutional setting preferred.

Freedom from illegal use of drugs, and freedom from use and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in this position.

RATE OF PAY IS $18/HR, WEEKLY PAY.
