Arconic Lancaster has been a leader in the aluminum manufacturing industry and a strong community partner for over 75 years. At our 1.3 million square-foot plant, we produce a variety of productsfrom painted aluminum sheet to blanked aluminum products. What we produce here is found in a wide assortment of end products, such as truck cabs, cookware, and construction materials. We also produce brazing sheet used by auto manufacturers to make evaporator and condenser components. Over 400 customers use our product for a variety of consumer goods.

All About Maintenance: As an employee working in our maintenance department, you help support our production departments by maintaining and servicing the equipment and machines they use in their day-to-day. You could end up in either Cast House/Plate Maintenance, Cold Mill/Mill Finish Maintenance, or Hot Mill Maintenance departments.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities of Industrial Mechanics:

• Carrying out gas metal arc welding (GMAW), to manufacture items and components.
• Cutting materials into the required shapes, checking dimensions and thicknesses
• Welding or joining metal and other materials into a wide range of structures.
• Following engineering plans, drawings, and instructions
• Using computer programs to design structures.
• Operating tools and machinery and welding equipment
• Inspecting and testing welds with precision measuring instruments
• Dismantling metal structures

Internal Candidates- this position has been evaluated to be between a Grade 5-7

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Ability to successfully pass the Mechanical Accelerated Assessment Test at Apprentice Mechanic B cut score.
  o Aptitude, ability and willingness to acquire additional training and education that will lead to a minimum Journeyperson Mechanic B classification. (Successful candidate must participate in training programs).
• 5 years of mechanic/maintenance experience
• 5 years of welding experience

  • 6G Pipe Welding Certification
• American Testing Certification

  • 4G-Vertical Welding
  • 6G-Pipe Test Welding
• 2 year technical degree in a related field
