Physical Requirements for Most Roles
All faculty and staff positions at SCFS may involve:
- Moving, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds
- Walking indoors and outdoors, sometimes at a quick pace
- Kneeling or squatting
- Sitting on the floor
- Standing for extended periods
- Climbing stairs
These expectations help ensure safe supervision of students in a dynamic environment.

>> Music & Creative Arts Educator (Pre-K–8)
Leads a process-oriented, inclusive music and creative arts program that emphasizes creativity, multicultural appreciation, movement, rhythm, and joyful participation.
Key qualities: creative, musically flexible, child-centered.
Qualifications:
- Background in music or arts education
- Inclusive, playful instructional approach

>> Spanish & World Language Educator (Pre-K–8)
Guides a unified Spanish program across grade levels, emphasizing communication, immersion, and cultural understanding through storytelling, conversation, and project-based learning.
Key qualities: fluent in Spanish, culturally responsive, experienced with language acquisition.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in Spanish
- Experience with language instruction preferred

>> Environmental Science & Stewardship Specialist (Pre-K–8)
Teaches ecological literacy and leads outdoor learning, sustainability efforts, and stewardship initiatives such as gardens, composting, recycling, and nature exploration.
Key qualities: environmental science background, outdoor leadership, systems thinker.
Qualifications:
- Environmental science or outdoor education background
- Experience leading outdoor learning preferred

>> Wellness & Movement Educator (Whole-Child PE)
Teaches whole-child physical wellness—including motor skills, mindfulness, cooperative play, and lifelong health habits—rather than competitive sports. Collaborates with teachers to support student wellbeing.
Key qualities: knowledge of child development, wellness education, movement-based SEL.
Qualifications:
- Background in wellness, movement, health education, or child development
