Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU travel assignment requiring an active PA or compact RN license and at least one prior completed travel assignment.
Details
- Neuro ICU setting within a hospital environment
- Patient population includes neurological, medical, and trauma ICU cases
- Rotating 12-hour shifts between days (7:00–19:00) and nights (19:00–7:00), with rotation occurring approximately every 6 weeks
- Every other weekend required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active PA or compact RN license currently in hand
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS; PALS preferred
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- At least one completed travel assignment required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Required clinical skills include: IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP management, CVVHD/CRRT, continuous IV sedation, vasoactive/cardiac drip titration, CVA/acute stroke management, ICP monitoring, TBI and spinal cord injury care, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction
- Preferred skills include: port access/management, EVD management, post-neurosurgery management, continuous IV paralytics, procedural sedation, GI surgery experience, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- One supervisory reference from within the past year required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- PA fingerprinting and Childline background check are required credentialing steps; fingerprinting must be completed in Pennsylvania and should be initiated as soon as a contract is signed
- Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of signing the contract
- Previously permanent or per diem employees of Penn Highlands Healthcare must have been away from the system for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler; any prior permanent employment with Penn Highlands Healthcare must be disclosed
