Senior Credit Officer - Hatch Bank

Hatch Bank is seeking a dynamic and strategic financial executive to serve as Sr. Credit Officer. This newly created role will work across all specialty finance verticals, with a focus on Hatch Bank as its Credit Officer. The Sr. Credit Officer will be responsible for all credit aspects of Hatch Bank, including new and existing sponsorship relationships, customer analytics, portfolio production and performance, and the development of innovative capital solutions. This role will also drive the creation of a private credit relationship platform to support Hatch and Firstrust customers in financing and warehousing loan assets, providing liquidity for customers engaged in loan sales and securitizations.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Credit Leadership for Hatch Bank
  • Serve as Credit Officer for Hatch Bank, overseeing all credit-related activities, including underwriting, risk assessment, and portfolio management for new and existing sponsorship relationships.
  • Develop and implement credit policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to ensure prudent growth intersecting with regulatory compliance.
  • Lead analytics on customer portfolios, production, and performance, providing actionable insights to optimize risk-adjusted returns.
  • Private Credit Relationship Platform Development
  • Partner with Firstrust and Hatch teams to design and launch a private credit relationship platform, enabling financing and warehousing of loan assets for customers.
  • Utilize the enterprise’s balance sheet to gestate assets prior to secondary market transactions, supporting customer liquidity needs and facilitating securitization activities.
  • Portfolio & Capital Solutions
  • Manage and optimize specialty finance portfolios, ensuring minimal criticized assets and robust performance tracking.
  • Develop a suite of capital solutions to help customers grow prudently, leveraging asset-based lending, credit structuring, and innovative financing products.
  • Support customers in accessing liquidity and capital markets, enhancing Firstrust’s platform and enterprise profitability.
  • Specialty Finance Business
  • Collaborate with Firstrust’s specialty finance businesses to align credit risk strategies with business objectives and growth targets.
  • Shape and strengthen client relationship strategies to support long-term growth and profitability.
  • Leadership & Team Building
  • Lead cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Deliver executive reporting and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and committees.

  • Assists in the development of new business for Firstrust. Alert to expressed customer/prospect needs to suggest appropriate services. Directs customers to appropriate person to establish business relationships.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Regularly required to drive a motor vehicle, occasional air travel, attending meetings at various venues, including but not limited to customers’ offices and/or properties, restaurants and other meeting locations, and ascend/descend stairs and or ladders occasionally to perform inspections.
  • The employee may be required to lift files/materials up to 20 pounds to take to various locations.
  • The incumbent will be expected to operate a computer terminal.
POTENITAL ON-THE-JOB-RISKS:

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in specialty finance, asset-based lending, credit risk management, and portfolio administration.
  • Proven record in building profitable portfolios, strengthening risk frameworks, and negotiating complex lending facilities.
  • Expertise in commercial lending, consumer finance, exposure to regulatory compliance, and audit.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and launching new financial products and platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in portfolio strategy, and performance tracking.
  • Executive leadership experience, including team building, coaching, and effective management.
  • Preferred: MBA or equivalent advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA and exposure to FINRA Series 7 & 63.
