ABOUT OPEN SPACE CCW + WHY NUTRITION MATTERS HERE:
Open Space CCW was founded in 2018 with a vision of creating a safe, inclusive, and progressive space where people can move from merely surviving to truly thriving-for both our providers and our clients. We created a safe space for affirming, equity-rooted mental health care that never asks anyone to shrink or mask to belong. We are advocates, and practice from an anti-oppressive framework, which means we call out bullsh!t when we see it and work to disrupt systems that are harmful.
Open Space CCW was born from a simple but radical belief: healing happens when people feel safe to be fully themselves. We've spent years creating that safety in mental health care, and now we're expanding into nutrition—because we know food, bodies, and identity are inseparable.
We grew fast, faced challenges, rebuilt intentionally, and emerged with a clear direction: A multidisciplinary wellness collective where dietitians, therapists, body-workers, and other healers collaborate under one roof, united by our commitment to anti-oppressive, LGBTQIA+ affirming, HAES-informed care that never asks anyone to shrink—literally or figuratively.
Our approach to nutrition is rooted in:
- Health at Every Size principles —because health is not determined by a number on a scale.
- Food justice and cultural humility —recognizing that access, tradition, and identity shape how we nourish ourselves.
- Body liberation —dismantling the systems that teach us our worth is tied to our size.
- Trauma-informed care —understanding that many of our clients have been harmed by the medical system and diet culture.
If you believe nutrition counseling should center joy and intuition rather than restriction and shame—this is where you belong.

WHY THIS MODEL IS UNIQUE FOR DIETITIANS:
Most RDs in Pennsylvania are stuck choosing between two broken models:
- The Clinical Hamster Wheel : See 25+ patients a day, follow standard protocols, celebrate weight loss, ignore the person behind the diagnosis.
- Solo Practice Survival Mode : Figure out everything alone—billing, marketing, credentialing—while trying to unlearn everything you were taught about nutrition.
We've created something different:
1099 Independence + Business Mentorship + Values-Aligned Community
We're not interested in creating another nutrition practice. We're building a space where you can practice the kind of nutrition therapy you actually believe in, with the business support to make it sustainable.
This is your chance to build a practice that feels authentically yours, with colleagues who share your values and clients who want what you're offering. No more code-switching. No more compromising your beliefs for a paycheck.

A SPACE DESIGNED FOR RADICAL NUTRITION CARE:
You'll have your own private office space for individual sessions, access to a tech-ready group room for workshops and classes, a full kitchen , and all the practical support you need—from secure parking to 24/7 building access.
But more importantly, you'll be surrounded by providers who understand that health isn't a moral obligation, that all bodies deserve respect, and that nutrition care should be liberating, not restrictive.
Every provider here is vetted for values alignment. Your clients will never encounter diet culture messaging in our waiting room. Your colleagues won't undermine your work by promoting weight stigma.
You're safe here. Your clients are safe here. And together, we're changing what nutrition care and wellness looks like.

SCOPE OF WORK:
- Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) using HAES principles and anti-oppressive practices with LGBTQIA+ individuals, BIPOC communities, people in larger bodies, eating disorder recovery, and other marginalized identities within your scope of practice.
- Complete thorough nutrition assessments that go beyond BMI and lab values to understand the whole person and their relationship with food.
- Collaborate with our therapy team for clients needing integrated care around food, body image, and mental health.
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation in our EHR system within 48 hours of sessions.
- Offer telehealth services to increase accessibility.
- Stay current with HAES research and anti-diet approaches through continuing education.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case consultations when appropriate for comprehensive client care.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- LDN in Pennsylvania required; RDN strongly preferred.
- Must be eligible for insurance credentialing and willing to participate in commercial insurance networks.
- HAES-informed practice is non-negotiable. We want providers who understand that weight is not a reliable indicator of health and who can support clients in intuitive eating and body acceptance.
- Competency working with LGBTQIA+ clients is essential. This includes understanding how gender dysphoria intersects with food and body image, supporting transition-related nutrition needs, and creating affirming care for queer and trans bodies.
- Experience with eating disorder recovery strongly preferred , or genuine interest in developing these skills with our support.
- Trauma-informed approach. Recognizing that many clients have been harmed by diet culture and medical weight stigma, and how trauma impacts eating and nutrition.
- Cultural humility. Understanding how racism, classism, and other systemic oppressions impact food access and body image.
- Ready to see 15-25 clients per week in a sustainable way that honors both your needs and theirs.
- Interested in building something lasting . We're looking for providers who want to grow with us for at least a year.
We especially value experience with:
- Eating disorder recovery at all stages
- LGBTQIA+ nutrition needs (hormone therapy considerations, gender-affirming care)
- Cultural nutrition practices and food traditions
- Chronic illness management without weight focus
- Family nutrition therapy (especially with diet culture recovery)
- Food insecurity and accessibility issues
- Neurodivergent eating patterns and sensory considerations
- Body liberation and fat acceptance principles
