The Boys Gymnastics Coach is responsible for coaching both the recreational and competitive boys’ gymnastic programs in a professional and energetic manner. This position will require some travel and a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends. The position will average 16-20 hours/week.

The starting rate is $20/hour. The Nook provides the necessary USAG membership and trainings.

NOTE : Because this position will involve routine interaction with children, all candidates must successfully obtain the following clearances PRIOR to beginning employment:

1. PA State Police criminal history record,
2. PA Child Abuse Clearance, and
3. FBI Fingerprint-based criminal history clearance.

Essential Job Functions

• Create and implement practice plans

• Provide instruction to youth of varying ages maintaining attention of all team members
• Greet and welcome parents and children in a warm, friendly, and timely manner
• Maintain and monitor a safe and healthy environment in which children can practice

• 18 years of age or older
• Dependable transportation to and from work
• Language skills: Fluent knowledge of the English language; including the ability to read and interpret written information and speak and understand verbal communication
• Ability to fulfill the physical requirements of the position with any reasonable accommodations as necessary
• Availability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed
• Authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to demonstrate gymnastic skills in curriculum to students
• Interactive and hands-on, comfortable instructing children of various ages
• Established curriculum focusing on gymnastics, cheerleading and tumbling
• Highly dependable with a history of consistent attendance and punctuality
• Demonstrates a positive and friendly attitude towards guests, customers, and fellow employees. Exhibits a respectful, professional demeanor
• Team-focused mindset; willing to set own priorities aside to help others; contributes to building a positive team spirit and morale

Working Conditions

• Work environment: Upbeat, high-energy sports and event complex with heavy foot traffic and frequent large crowds. This position will be located in the gymnastics and cheerleading room.
• Physical requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be regularly required to perform physical activity that includes moving about the work area, standing, sitting, bending, reaching with hands and arms, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing and smelling. The team member will be frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. He or she is required to have the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
• Lifting requirements: The team member will occasionally be required to lift, push, pull, lower and/or move up to 10 lbs regularly and up to 65 lbs occasionally when spotting gymnasts.
• Noise Level: The noise level in this environment is typically moderate to loud.
