About the Role

As an Outreach Associate , you’ll be the friendly face families trust, working in Pittsburgh laundromats to start conversations, answer questions, and connect them to helpful services. This isn’t just a job; it’s a chance to build relationships and make a real impact in your community.

What You’ll Do

• Connect with Families: Strike up friendly conversations, build trust, and share helpful information about public benefits.
• Educate and Assist: Explain benefit programs, screen for eligibility, and help families with the application process in a simple, clear way.

Who You Are

• A People-Person: You love talking to new people and have experience in outreach, customer service, or social work.
• Empathetic: You genuinely care about helping others and can connect with families from all walks of life.
• Adaptable: You’re comfortable working in different laundromats and can easily adjust to new situations.
• Self-Starter: You can take initiative and work independently without a lot of supervision.

Must-Haves

• Comfortable with In-Person Outreach: Ready to spend your days in laundromats—no laundry required!
• Reliable Transportation: Able to travel between different locations in Pittsburgh.
• Tech-Friendly: Comfortable using simple tech tools for tracking and reporting.
• Qualified Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Nice-to-Haves

• Bilingual in Spanish: A plus for connecting with more families.
• Familiarity with Public Benefits: Helpful but not required.

Schedule & Compensation

• Schedule: Friday–Tuesday
• Employment Type: Full-time
• Compensation: $21-$22.50
