Bi-lingual Quality Supervisor – Plastics Manufacturing
Title: Quality Supervisor
Location: Lehigh Valley Area, PA

Reports To: Quality Manager or Plant Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Position Summary:
The Quality Supervisor oversees the daily quality operations in a plastics manufacturing environment to ensure all raw materials, in-process parts, and finished products meet company and customer specifications. This role leads the quality team, manages inspection and testing processes, and works closely with production, maintenance, and engineering to drive continuous improvement in quality, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and schedule Quality Inspectors and Technicians across assigned shifts.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to quality standards for injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming, or film production processes.
- Review production and inspection data to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with customer requirements.
- Conduct first article inspections, in-process checks, and final audits of plastic components or finished goods.
- Perform and oversee testing such as visual inspection, dimensional checks, melt flow index (MFI), tensile strength, impact resistance, and color verification.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to reduce scrap, rework, and customer complaints.
- Maintain calibration and verification schedules for testing and measuring equipment.
- Support new product trials, first piece approvals, and process validations.
- Manage and maintain documentation including quality records, inspection reports, and Certificates of Compliance (CoC).
- Prepare and analyze quality metrics (scrap rates, defect trends, customer complaints) and present results to management.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 (if applicable), GMP, and customer-specific standards.
- Train team members on quality standards, inspection techniques, and proper documentation practices.
Collaborate with Production and Engineering on process improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bi-lingual Spanish required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in a plastics manufacturing quality role (injection molding, extrusion, film, or thermoforming).
- Minimum 1–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of plastic material properties and testing methods.
- Experience with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and colorimeters.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other applicable quality management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality software (e.g., SPC, Minitab, ERP/QMS systems).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
• May lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
• Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work Environment:
• Primarily manufacturing floor and quality lab setting.
• Exposure to noise, temperature variations, and moving machinery.
• Fast-paced production environment requiring collaboration with cross-functional teams.
