Cath Lab Technologist Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a cardiac cath technologist or interventional radiology technologist
• Associate's Degree in Radiologic Studies or completion of an approved Cardiovascular Technology Program
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Registered American Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or Registered Cardio Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
• Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered

Key Responsibilities in Hospital Cath Lab

• Operate advanced cath lab equipment and deliver patient care during cardiac catheterization procedures
• Assist physicians with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations
• Perform and interpret hemodynamic waveforms and electrocardiographic tracings
• Operate and maintain fluorographic, digital image recording, laser, and electrophysiology equipment
• Develop and monitor quality control policies and procedures for clinical support
• Train staff technologists, fellows, and nursing staff in equipment function and safety procedures
• Maintain inventory control systems and computer reports
