TITLE: Drawstring Conversion SupervisorPOSITION OBJECTIVE: Maintain all established standards of Safety, Quality & Safety on their assigned shift.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or equivalent Good oral and written communication skills Available for overtime. Available to train on different machinery and different lines. Must have mechanical aptitude. Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactionsJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety, must comply with all written and verbal safety rules that apply for the plant and department. Must be willing and able to wear all personal protective equipment. Must ensure that employees maintain good housekeeping in their assigned areas. Must ensure that all rules set forth by the company are being adhered by the employees assigned to their shift. Cover overtime posted by the other two shifts as well as properly covering their shift. Ensure that overtime policies are adhered to consistently. Review any possible deviations with the department manager. Guide the workforce to ensure that required productions standards are being achieved. Monitoring poor performing employees to correct their work performance. Ensure that disciplinary action is taken when needed to correct employee performance, ensuring consistency. Supervisors are required to do a complete round of quality checks twice a shift. Checks are to include all aspects. Required to review the operators/packers quality checklist throughout their shift to ensure that the proper quality checks are getting done. Review line speed verses standard to ensure that production goals are being reach. Explanation deviation from goals. In conjunction with the shift Foremen, check-in all jobs to ensure accuracy. All items on the docket are to be checked. Schedule employees on their shift to appropriate machines. Order entry into the computer. Conduct employee evaluations, establish goals to improve performance. Schedule vacations for their shift. Ensure that the daily employee exception report is being filled out. Ensure that all temporary employees are filling out their time sheets. Perform shift safety meetings. Conduct safety walks. Complete accident investigations as well as filling out the correct forms and paperwork. WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION: Subject to extreme heat, temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hourPHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
