RN Registered Nurse - Neuroscience Critical Care Unit

Ceballos at [email protected] SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Staff Nurse, RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to a designated group of patients. The nurse will establish goals and priorities of nursing care. The nurse will develop a written plan of nursing care which includes patient education and discharge planning. The staff nurse will be responsible for documentation of care given with patient progress. The RN will work collaboratively with the medical staff in matters of patient care. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: With 31 beds, the critical care unit serves neurology and neurosurgery patients receiving treatment for strokes, brain tumors, head traumas, seizures, neuro-oncology, advanced neurological monitoring and other neuromuscular disorders. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact. required OR Registered Nurse from another state with a Temporary PA Practice Permit required.
- 6 months RN experience required.
- Experience in a neuroscience Intensive Care Unit is preferred, but general intensive care unit / critical care experience is acceptable, or two years of medical/surgical/telemetry experience in an acute care setting.
- Able to sit occasionally; stand constantly; walk frequently.
- Able to lift/carry 0-10 lbs frequently; 11-50 lbs occasionally.
- Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionally.
- Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.
- Able to use hand for simple/firm grasping.
