Lube Technician

Responsibilities and Duties:- Draining the oil from a vehicle and replacing it to manufacturer specifications.
- Topping off other fluids, including brake, power steering and windshield wiper fluid.
- Inspecting the engine block and underbody for leaks and potential issues.
- Checking tire pressure and filling tires with air as needed to manufacturer specifications.
- Installing new car parts, such as air filters, oil filters, windshield wipers and batteries.
- Lubricating moving parts as necessary, including those in the engine and wheel bearings and ensuring the engine is kept clean throughout servicing.
- Diagnosing existing issues and consulting with lead mechanics on the team to address the vehicles’ issues.
- Creating detailed service reports for customers.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair basic systems including brakes, alignments and suspension.
- Perform and demonstrate Customer Service Satisfaction.
- Install and perform all approved diagnostic, repair, and maintenance services.
- Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Communicate with parts department and Service Advisors to obtain needed parts.
- Notify Service Advisor immediately if additional work outlined is not required.
- Notify Service Advisor immediately if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.
- Assists Service Advisors, if necessary, to explain completed repairs to a customer.
- Produces accurate and clear written documentation of repairs made and time worked.
- Completes service and repair assignments correctly to pass quality inspections or test drives.
- Road tests vehicles to ensure repairs are completed properly.
- Keep shop area neat, clean.
- Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.
- Adheres to all company safety policies and procedures and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
- Provide your own tools (safety, security, maintenance & upkeep of your tools are your responsibility).
- Treat all customers, teammates, and vendors with dignity and respect.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Great technical knowledge of shop equipment such as alignment systems, scan/diagnostic equipment, brake lathes, strut compressors, and wheel and tire equipment.
- Candidates with a valid PA State Inspection License and Emissions license are a plus.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information.
- High School Diploma.
- Must have a current valid PA driver's license and an acceptable driving record per dealership policies.
- Ability and willingness to maintain up to date vehicle product and technical knowledge.
- You must be a Self-starter in approaching your assignments. Must be able to demonstrate a high sense of urgency/energy in completing assignments.
- Must possess the desire and ability to learn, as well as demonstrate personal responsibility.
- Attendance is an essential function of employment and you must be timely and ready to work your scheduled shifts.
- Must demonstrate excellent communication skills.
- Must be reliable, demonstrate good time management and adhere to the highest quality standards as set by the dealership management.
- Works well under pressure and meets deadlines with ease.
- Must have a positive attitude, honesty and integrity.
- Must be able to drive vehicles equipped with standard shift transmissions.
