Operations Manager
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of field operations, ensuring crews, equipment, materials, and schedules are aligned to deliver high-quality service safely and efficiently. This role bridges office planning and field execution while driving accountability, consistency, and operational excellence across the organization.
This position plays a key leadership role in supporting production managers, crew leaders, and field staff while protecting company standards for quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Core Responsibilities
Field Operations Oversight
Coordinate and monitor daily crew schedules and routing
Ensure labor, equipment, and materials are properly allocated
Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks
Maintain workflow continuity across divisions
Support production managers with execution challenges
Crew Support & Accountability
Reinforce company standards, policies, and expectations
Assist with Hiring, onboarding and training of field personnel
Monitor crew efficiency, productivity, and quality
Coach crew leaders on organization and job execution
Address operational performance issues proactively
Equipment & Fleet Management
Oversee preventative maintenance schedules
Coordinate repairs and minimize downtime
Monitor vehicle and asset conditions
Ensure crews follow equipment procedures
Assist with seasonal equipment planning
Quality Control & Jobsite Standards
Conduct field visits and inspections
Ensure work meets company quality expectations
Identify training gaps and recurring issues
Protect company reputation through consistent execution
Safety & Risk Management
Reinforce safety protocols and jobsite practices
Participate in safety meetings and training
Identify unsafe conditions or behaviors
Promote a culture of safety and accountability
Snow Operations (Seasonal)
Assist with snow event preparation and execution
Coordinate crew deployment and equipment readiness
Support operational decisions during events
Participate in event management as required

Works Closely With: Production Managers, Office Staff, Sales Team, Crew Leaders

Strong organizational and leadership abilities
Experience in landscaping, construction, or field operations
Ability to manage multiple moving parts simultaneously
Solutions-oriented and calm under pressure
Strong communication and accountability mindset
Mechanically inclined (preferred but not required)
Process-driven and detail-oriented
