HR Benefit Coordinator

Starting at $21.50 - $26.50 based on Knowledge, Skills, Ability, and Experience
Primary Areas of Accountability
Conduct team member benefit enrollment
Process FMLA, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability requests
Manage FSA and HSA Spending Accounts
Manage retirement benefits
ACA (1095 C) Reporting
Ensure Compliance with applicable government regulations
Administer benefit plans
Responsibility + Expectations
1.Benefits Administration
Lead the administration of benefit plans medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, spending accounts, workers compensation, 401k, voluntary benefits, and life plans.
Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and submit for payment.
Enroll new team members in Employee Navigator and maintain Team Members records benefits onboarding.
Assist Team Members with benefit related questions and concerns, open enrollment, and annual updates.
Oversee administration of LOA process (FMLA, STD, LTD, WC, UC).
Oversee maintenance of team member benefit files.
Collaborate with Payroll Specialist to ensure that employer contributions and payroll deductions are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
Manage the tuition reimbursement program.
Update, track and record benefits for cell phones and car allowances.
Resolve benefit-related issues and respond to queries and requests in a timely manner.
Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
Conduct regular audits and review processes.
Assist in evaluation of the efficiency and value of current benefit programs and make recommendations to improve team member benefits.
Design and distribute materials for benefit orientation, open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions.
Track Team Member wellness rewards for medical insurance reduction.
2.Regulatory Compliance
Assist in federal, state and government regulatory filings and processes (i.e., 5500s, SARs, audits, non-discrimination testing etc.).
Complete required compliance tasks and reporting in conjunction with vendor and broker guidance.
Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations.
Maintain and create records, reports, and documentation in accordance with federal, state, and provider regulations.
Maintain team member medical records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
3.Miscellaneous
Provide data and cost analysis to support annual budgets and collective bargaining agreements.
Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
Serve as backup to Payroll Specialist.
Provide support and participate with new acquisitions.
Participate in benefit and compensation surveys.
Complete projects and other duties as assigned by the Manager of Human Resources.
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Business/Human Resources or related experience
PHR or SHRM-CP preferred

Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, affecting team member benefits program including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Cafeteria 125 Plans, Workers Compensation, Unemployment Compensation and Medicare
Ability to effectively communicate complex information to team members in easy-to-understand terms
Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and respect for team members privacy (HIPAA) and data security
Positive and professional attitude
Proficient in computer technology including Microsoft Applications
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
Strong analytical skills and knowledge of plan designs
Excellent organizational, written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to manage complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines
Able and willing to work flexible hours and travel as needed
Valid drivers license, access to a motor vehicle and capacity to travel
