Assistant Lab Technologist - Full Time - Evening - Pittsburgh

Job Description GENERAL OVERVIEW Performs various technical and support laboratory duties under the guidance of a medical technologist competent in the area of testing. Requires decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast paced and high volume environment. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES- Performs a variety of routine and complex procedures using established criteria to provide quality clinical information. Verifies analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and linearity for test methods
- Operates, calibrates, checks, maintains instrumentation and recognizes and communicates with a certified medical technologist if there are any problems with quality controls
- Performs test order entry accurately and efficiently to ensure proper testing and charges of patient accounts
- Participates in medical technology learning models or technical development modules to ensure growth and development of the laboratory
- Provides support such as answering telephones, faxing reports and reporting stat and critical value results
- Performs other duties as assigned or required
- Experience in clinical laboratory.
- Bachelor's in biology, chemical, physical or clinical laboratory science.
