Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Support students in a dynamic K-12 school setting through a specialized role focused on assisting with speech and language development. This onsite position in Hanover, PA offers an opportunity to work closely with students exhibiting moderate to severe behaviors, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and a variety of speech needs. The contract runs for the full school year, providing consistency and the ability to make a meaningful impact on students educational experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist speech-language pathologists in delivering support tailored to student needs
- Engage with students demonstrating moderate to severe behavioral challenges and diverse communication needs
- Implement individualized plans to promote speech and language development
- Collaborate with educational and clinical teams to foster a supportive learning environment
- Monitor and document student progress under supervision
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) certification approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education Board
- Experience or training in working with children exhibiting ASD and speech-related challenges
- Ability to manage a moderate to severe caseload with professionalism and patience
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to working onsite during standard school hours (35 hours per week)
