A&A Discussion Leader/Technical Writer - Remote | WFH

Get It Recruit - Educational Services
Strafford, PA
We are seeking experienced Accounting & Auditing (A&A) CPAs and instructors to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for teaching and creating technical content in the fields of accounting, auditing, and financial education. Our ideal candidate will have expertise in US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), complex topics such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, consolidations, and US auditing standards (AICPA and PCAOB).

This is an exciting opportunity to engage with experienced professionals, presenting and writing courses on complex technical accounting matters. Whether you are facilitating discussions or creating the content that supports those discussions, you will be a key player in delivering high-quality educational materials to our customers.

Role Overview:

The Discussion Leader (DL) is responsible for presenting courses and materials prepared by the content team to an informed audience of CPAs, accounting professionals, and industry experts. This role requires you to engage in dynamic discussions, answer participant questions, and make complex accounting topics accessible and understandable for the audience.

The Technical Writer (TW) is responsible for creating detailed, technical content including slides, study materials, and written content on topics like US GAAP and auditing standards. Your writing will be geared towards an experienced accounting audience, ensuring the materials are accurate, clear, and easy to follow.

As a DL/TW, you will be the content expert on US GAAP and US auditing standards, ensuring that all materials are accurate and provide extra context beyond what is included in the presentations. While the DL role involves engaging with customers and live audiences, the TW role focuses more on content creation without direct interaction with the audience.

Key Responsibilities:

Discussion Leader:

Deliver engaging presentations on technical accounting matters, including US GAAP, auditing standards (PCAOB and AICPA), and other accounting topics.
Facilitate live and/or recorded courses to a wide range of accounting professionals, including CPAs, accounting firm staff, and industry professionals.
Practice and refine presentation delivery to ensure accurate, clear communication of complex materials.
Answer questions from participants during live sessions or course re-broadcasts, ensuring clarity and understanding.
Instruct CPE courses in various formats: remote webinars, self-study, and live sessions (from 30 minutes to 8 hours, with 2-4 hours being most common).

Technical Writer:

Create detailed technical content for presentations, including slides, study materials, and written documents.
Ensure the content is accurate, current, and accessible, covering topics such as US GAAP, auditing standards, and other technical accounting matters.
Collaborate with the content team to ensure the materials align with the needs of the audience and meet high-quality standards.

Both DL & TW Roles:

Review and understand all provided content before delivery to ensure accuracy.
Clearly explain complex technical topics in an understandable manner for both experienced and firm customers.
Be a subject matter expert, responding to participant inquiries during live sessions and re-broadcasts.

Required Skills & Abilities:

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
Well-organized with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to handle a high-paced and dynamic work environment.
Professional demeanor, representing the organization with respect and integrity.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint.
Collaborative and positive attitude towards colleagues and clients.

Education & Experience:

College degree or equivalent work experience required.
Active CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license required.
Minimum of 1 year of experience with US GAAP, tax, or technical accounting matters.
Experience with AICPA or PCAOB auditing standards is preferred for A&A candidates.
At least 1 year of experience in public speaking, facilitating, or instructing required.
Minimum of 1 year of audit or tax experience in public accounting required.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work for prolonged periods while seated at a desk and using a computer.
