Business Development Lead

Varsal
Warminster, PA

Job Description

Job Description

The Business Development Lead at Varsal will drive new growth by identifying opportunities, building relationships, and expanding the company’s presence in the chemical industry. This role combines sales, strategy, and collaboration—connecting with customers, managing accounts, and supporting the development of innovative products and market solutions.

Day-to-day, you’ll engage prospects through meetings, events, and outreach, while maintaining organized records in HubSpot and other tools. You’ll also work closely with our R&D and Marketing teams to explore new markets, analyze trends, and strengthen Varsal’s brand. The ideal candidate is motivated, outgoing, and strategic—someone who thrives on building partnerships and turning opportunities into lasting success.

Who We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for a driven, people-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and values building lasting relationships over quick wins. You don’t need a chemistry background—sales experience in other industries, like automotive, is just as valuable.

Ideal Candidates Are:

  • Strong relationship builders.

  • Flexible and able to work well with a range of personalities.

  • Resilient, confident, and comfortable voicing ideas or concerns.

  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.

  • Motivated by a startup mindset within an established company.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage prospective customers through calls, emails, meetings, and industry events.

  • Manage and track all customer interactions in HubSpot, Excel, and Google Drive.

  • Build and maintain long term relationships with current and potential clients.

  • Collaborate with R&D to develop new sales strategies and market opportunities.

  • Analyze sales data and market trends to inform strategy and reporting.

  • Set and monitor sales goals to ensure consistent business growth.

  • Support and attend marketing initiatives such as trade shows, advertising, and promotions.

  • Continuously refine sales processes to improve performance and results.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Chemistry, or a related field (preferred)

  • 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management.

  • A background in chemistry is preferred but not required

  • Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace, with a proven ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software applications.

Benefits:

  • Paid vacation, sick/personal, bereavement, and holiday leave.

  • Medical insurance with company-paid individual coverage

  • 401(k) plan with company match.

  • Performance-based bonuses and sales commissions.
