Preschool Teacher (3-4 year olds)
The Agape School is looking for a warm, nurturing, and engaging Preschool Teacher to join our growing team. We are seeking someone who has a true love for children, a passion for early childhood education, and a heart for creating a safe and inspiring classroom environment for our 3- and 4-year-old scholars.
At The Agape School, we believe in providing a strong educational foundation through love, learning, STEAM, and Spanish. Our teachers play an important role in helping children grow socially, emotionally, academically, and spiritually in a caring and structured environment.
Position Summary
The Preschool Teacher will lead a classroom of children ages 3–4 and create meaningful learning experiences through hands-on activities, structured play, and age-appropriate instruction. The ideal candidate is patient, creative, organized, and enthusiastic about helping children build confidence and kindergarten readiness skills.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a safe, loving, and engaging classroom environment
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities
- Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth
- Teach early learning concepts such as letters, numbers, shapes, colors, and name recognition
- Incorporate hands-on learning, STEAM activities, and Spanish throughout the day
- Lead classroom routines including circle time, centers, meals, rest time, and outdoor play
- Use positive guidance and redirection to support behavior and classroom management
- Observe and document children’s growth and developmental progress
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom
- Communicate professionally and warmly with parents and families
- Collaborate with co-teachers and school leadership
Qualifications
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in a childcare or early learning setting preferred
- CDA, associate degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices
- Patient, dependable, creative, and team-oriented
- Passion for teaching and building strong relationships with children and families
Requirements
- Ability to pass all required background clearances
- Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Health assessment and TB clearance
- Completion of mandated reporter training and other required state trainings
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance
