Assistant Restaurant Manager

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager (AGM) is responsible for supporting daily operations and leading the restaurant team.

Supervisory Responsibility

· Team Management: Directly responsible for leading, scheduling, and managing the hourly restaurant staff within the assigned restaurant.

· Talent, Culture & Training: Assist in recruiting strong candidates for FOH positions; work to train, develop, and empower staff for future leadership roles.

Operations & The Guest Experience

· Floor Leadership: Maintain a constant presence on the floor, "touching" tables to ensure 100% guest satisfaction and rectifying any negative impressions immediately.

· Service Standards: Ensure guests receive a dining experience in accordance with service standards, from reservations through departures and follow-ups.

· Menu Integrity: Coordinate with the Chef and culinary team to ensure all food and beverages are consistently prepared and served to the restaurant’s standards.

· Knowledge Leadership: Maintain expert-level upscale wine and beverage knowledge; ensure FOH staff is fully versed on all menu items and daily specials.

Financial & Administrative Oversight

· Cost Control: Support the GM in monitoring labor, food, and liquor costs to ensure the business achieves budgeted profit levels.

· Reporting: Submit nightly reports on service, sales, labor/liquor costs, and facilities issues.

· Catering Coordination - Act as the primary point of contact for initial inquiries, guiding clients through the intake process to understand their event vision,

guest count, and specific venue requirements. Assist in the timing and (if necessary) delivery.

· Systems Management: Utilize Toast, Homebase, and Microsoft Office products to manage flow and administrative tasks.

Required Education & Experience

· Experience: 2 or more years of experience in restaurant management. Also industry leaders with head server, bartenders who are looking to advance.

· Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.

· Flexibility: Must be able to work flexible hours and days (including nights and weekends).
