Maintenance Technician - Facilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES *: *

• Abide by all Safety regulations and policies

• Must wear all required PPE for any task/job currently being performed

• Meet all production standards and efficiencies focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost based on current routings/times

• Perform daily housekeeping task. Help maintain 5S standards in your work location and whole department

• Must be willing to work outside of your current Job Classification and Department as qualified and needed

• Responsible for performing routine mechanical maintenance and PM maintenance work on all production equipment and facility power systems.

• Maintain all plant production equipment and mechanical needs.

• Troubleshoot and repair bearings, shafts, hydraulics, compressed air systems, and pneumatic systems.

• Rig and/or install new presses, welders, compressed air lines, and water feed/drain lines.

• Operate and service PLC controlled paint line conveyor system.

• Must be able to learn basic booth programming for GEMA paint booth.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS *: *

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Basic mechanical abilities

• Basic mathematical abilities (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)

• Organizational and communication skills

• Desire to learn new skills and improve knowledge

• Strong orientation toward:

• Safety, quality, and continuous improvement demonstrated by a work history of safe performance, accuracy and attention to detail in the work performed, constructive problem solving and suggestions for improvement, ability to effectively implement or respond to change, punctuality and consistent work attendance

• Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures, including those related to Safety

• Three to five years previous experience, with an emphasis on machine troubleshooting and repair (as opposed to installation work)

• Pennsylvania state mechanical journeyman certificate preferred

• Able to read and write and understand written and verbal instructions

• Able to work independently with minimal supervision

• Knowledge of PLC computerized systems

• HVAC/Plumbing Experience

• Understands hydraulic and pneumatic systems

• Understands blueprints and mechanical drawings

• Welding and fabrication abilities preferred

• Proven safety skills around moving mechanical equipment

• Able to perform motor pump alignments, fan balancing, and bearing change outs

• Must be able to use various measurement tools not limited to tapes, micrometers, calipers (all types) and protractors.

• Ability to identify and solve problems associated with manufacturing processes is critical

• Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change

• Associate degree or vocational diploma which exhibits knowledge of the trade in the areas required by the position, desired but not required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Will be working in a manufacturing plant with varying climate

• Must be able and willing to work daily and weekly overtime as required

• Able to stand continuously for 8 to 10 hours daily

• Able to lift, push and/or pull up to 33lbs individually and up to 66lbs as a team

• Able to use hand for fine manipulations

• Able to handle frequent pushing and pulling

• Able to continuously grasp and reach, including overhead

• Able to frequently walk, bend, climb, twist, stoop, kneel and squat
