Job Summary
In this role, you will function as the payroll point person for select clients working hybrid - remote and in-office. You will: transmit payroll files for processing; assist employees or managers with questions about payroll policies and pay discrepancies; maintain payroll related files and records; complete new hire setup, onboarding, and terminations in various payroll systems.
This role is ideal for someone who can perform work under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff or third parties.
Job Duties
- Processing bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls for multiple FEINs.
- Under limited supervision, manages multiple projects and ongoing operational responsibilities while monitoring, summarizing, communicating, and reporting status to the Manager.
- Keeps abreast of changes and developments regarding payroll administration.
- Interact with clients regarding payroll related general ledger issues.
- Maintaining and setting up pay codes, deduction codes, and other modules as necessary in payroll systems.
- Act as liaison between management and payroll department. Assists employees or managers with questions about payroll policies and pay discrepancies.
- Maintains payroll related files and records.
- Completes new hire setup in payroll systems.
- Assists in the preparation of year end W-2s or other related tax filings or reports.
Experience and Education
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
- Three to five years of previous multi state payroll experience
- Commanding understanding of Payroll/HRIS platform(s) such as ADP, Paylocity, iSolve, UKG
- Excellent computer skills (spreadsheet applications)
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to multitask on projects assigned
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with key constituencies and all levels of management
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality
