A market-leading B2C company has engaged our firm in a search for a Manager of Application Development to drive their digital transformation initiatives. This role will lead a small development team focused on modernizing their customer experience platform and enhancing their digital commerce capabilities. A major focus will also involve new SaaS integrations and features development for customer engagement.

This is a full-time, hybrid on-site position at their headquarters in West Chester, PA.

The Role You'll Play

In this role, you'll drive the technical vision and execution of our client's digital experience platform and other customer-facing applications while leading a small internal team of developers and coordinating with external development partners. This role combines hands-on technical leadership (you will still be coding!) with strategic planning and team management.

• Lead architectural decisions and technical direction for customer-facing applications

• Drive adoption of modern development practices and cloud-native architectures

• Manage sprint planning and execution across multiple concurrent projects

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions

• Provide mentorship and career development for team members

• Oversee integration with third-party platforms and services

• Ensure code quality through reviews and implementation of best practices

• Build relationships with external development partners and vendors

• Guide the modernization of legacy applications

• Optimize deployment processes and application performance

Background Profile:

We're seeking a technical leader who can balance hands-on development expertise with team leadership and stakeholder management. The ideal candidate will have experience modernizing legacy platforms and implementing cloud-native solutions.

• 5+ years of full-stack development experience focusing on modern web technologies

• Strong background in cloud platforms, particularly Azure (and ADF)

• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks and microservices architectures

• Track record of leading small, high-performing development teams

• Proven success managing both internal teams and external partners

• Experience with enterprise integration patterns and API design

• Strong communication skills and business acumen

• Background in Agile methodologies and DevOps practices

Preferred:

• Experience with digital commerce platforms

• Knowledge of integration platforms (iPaaS)

• Background in legacy system modernization
