The A3-Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Expert is a seasoned professional providing essential non-professional nursing care to patients and residents in long-term care settings. This role involves direct assistance with daily activities, rehabilitation support, and the maintenance of patient environments under close supervision. The expert CNA also serves as a resource for guidance and troubleshooting within their area of expertise, ensuring high-quality care aligned with healthcare standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct daily care and rehabilitation to patients/residents in hospitals, infirmaries, and long-term care units.
• Maintain cleanliness and order of patient quarters
• Follow specific instructions from registered nurses and physicians while adhering to established rules and regulations
• Participate in on-the-job, in-service, and formal training to sustain nursing care expertise
• Encourage and assist patients/residents in prescribed rehabilitative and recreational activities
• Perform routine duties independently as experience increases
• Provide guidance and answer questions related to nursing aide work and care practices as an expert resource
• Work under the close supervision of a licensed professional who reviews performance through reports and observations
• Adhere to strict no-cell phone policies and scheduling requirements, including rotating holidays and weekend shifts

Required Qualifications

• Minimum six months of experience as an Aide Trainee or one year of paid experience in geriatric or physical patient care
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification as a nurse aide by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, meeting all competency requirements
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products
• Ability to work the 3rd shift (10:15 pm–6:15 am), five days a week, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
• Availability for every other weekend and rotating holidays
• No request for time off during the first four weeks of orientation

• Demonstrated expertise in nursing aide work recognized by supervisors and colleagues
