Responsibilities

MV Transportation operates the Mid Mon Valley Transit Authority (MMVTA) bus service and is seeking a Dispatcher to manage day-to-day operations for our Fixed Route bus service. This position ensures safe cost-effective and on-time performance in compliance with client requirements and company procedures. The Dispatcher will maintain daily communication with drivers and clients track operational performance and escalate issues to the Operations Supervisor as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Take client calls and communicate issues promptly to drivers and the Operations Supervisor.
• Monitor radio telephones and on-road service for quality and schedule adherence.
• Track and provide guidance to bus operators in the field using the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
• Document late starts and early runs and guide in-field operators to make necessary corrections.
• Perform daily data entry including payroll hours mileage and other operational data.
• Promote positive employee morale and deliver excellent customer service.
• Oversee and record driver sign-in and sign-out daily.
• Assign trips to drivers as needed to balance workload across all fixed routes.
• Monitor daily system performance and report irregularities.
• Participate in analysis and review of operating performance.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Talent Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of dispatcher experience preferred.
• 2 years of customer service experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience using vehicle tracking and reporting systems preferred.
• Proficient in basic operational use of Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• Ability to work all shifts and days including weekends early mornings and late evenings.
• Strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
• Professional phone etiquette and clear communication skills.
• This is a safety-sensitive position; must pass pre-employment and regular drug & alcohol testing.
• Knowledge of the local service area is a plus.
