Denim Coffee Company is a Specialty Coffee Roaster with coffee shops in Carlisle, Chambersburg, Harrisburg and Mechanicsburg.

NOW HIRING BARISTAS - We are currently looking for a barista for our downtown Carlisle shop (1 S Hanover St) for the following shifts:

• Saturdays from 12-6:30pm
• Sundays from 8am-3pm

Candidates must be available year-round to be considered. If you are in college and leave the area for breaks or if you are in high school, we cannot consider you for this position.

Pay is $9/hr plus tips, which typically results in average wages of $14 to $17 per hour with tips factored in.

Barista Duties:

Provide exceptional customer service as a Barista in our café. Honor customers through hospitality and provide a memorable coffee experience.

Essential Functions

• Greet all customers with a friendly smile.
• Provide friendly, efficient and personal service to each customer.
• Create a rapport with customers by learning their names and favorite drinks.
• Educate customers on all of our products.
• Maintain high quality and consistent product standards.
• Strive for the highest level of customer satisfaction.
• Accurately process transactions in the POS system.
• Cup and taste coffee regularly to maintain familiarity with product and quality standards.
• Stay informed of new coffee availability and attributes.
• Communicate with team members and management to solve problems and improve service.
• Support a positive work environment.
• Prepare baked goods, foods, smoothies and other drinks with quality.
• Maintain a clean workstation and atmosphere.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for coffee
• Customer service that is executed in a personal and professional manner
• Understanding of coffee shops and specialty retail
• Desire to educate others about our coffee and espresso methods
• Strong attention to detail and healthy respect for cleanliness and sanitation
• Excitement about the task of ensuring that each customer has a quality experience in our café
• Open to criticism and constantly striving to improve
• Ability to multi-task with ease

Physical Demands

• Stand and walk - must be able to stand for shifts and move about the café including up/down stairs to retrieve inventory from basement
• Use of hands - operate espresso machinery
• Taste/Smell - ability to detect and perceive smell of coffee
• Talk/hear - frequently communicate with customers

Work environment

• Work is performed at the cafe
• The work environment can be noisy

BENEFITS

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 13 per week
