Position Title: Staff Accountant

Location: Plymouth Meeting, PA

Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 / Annually

Work Schedule: 8:30am – 5:30pm

On-Site or Hybrid: Hybrid – In office 3 days per week

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close activities, including preparing and analyzing financial results
• Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
• Analyze financial activity, investigate variances, and support accurate and timely financial reporting
• Assist with inventory reconciliations, discrepancy research, and related reserve analysis
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules as part of the monthly close cycle
• Maintain fixed asset accounting and reconciliations in accordance with company capitalization policies
• Research unusual financial activity and partner with leadership to resolve accounting issues
• Respond to accounting and financial questions in a timely and professional manner
• Contribute to the development of efficient accounting processes and strong internal controls
• Complete required training and perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years of experience in accounting or a related field
• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close processes (preferred)
• Experience in a decentralized or operationally-focused business environment (a plus)
• Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Strong technical accounting and reconciliation skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including working with large data sets and financial analysis
• Ability to understand operational drivers behind financial results and investigate unusual activity
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
• Coachable, with a willingness to learn and grow in responsibility over time
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
