Electrical Engineer – MEP Design Firm

Location: Wyomissing, PA
Salary Range: $85,000 – $145,000 (DOE)
Total Compensation Package: $90,000 – $145,000+ (including benefits, bonuses, and retirement match)

Position Overview

We are seeking a talented Electrical Engineer with 3+ years of experience in building systems design. In this role, you will lead the design of electrical distribution systems, lighting and lighting controls, fire alarm systems, and low-voltage systems while working closely with architects, clients, and cross-disciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Electrical Systems Design: Develop detailed designs for power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, fire alarms, and building technology systems (CCTV, access control, security, telecom).

• Engineering Calculations: Perform load analysis, short circuit studies, voltage drop calculations, equipment sizing, and code compliance checks.

• Collaboration: Coordinate with architects, clients, and other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated, high-quality solutions.

• Technical Documentation: Prepare construction documents, specifications, and shop drawing reviews.

• Project Support: Assist with field surveys, site inspections, and construction administration tasks.

• Technology & Innovation: Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office for design documentation, with opportunities to expand technical software expertise.

• Mentorship: Contribute to team development by mentoring junior staff and sharing technical knowledge.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE or BSAE).

• Experience: 3+ years of electrical design experience for buildings (power, lighting, fire alarm, security, and low-voltage systems).

• Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office required; Revit experience highly preferred .

• Licensure: EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

• Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to manage multiple projects, and a detail-oriented approach to engineering design.
