Deputy controller
Responsible for overall administration and efficiency within the Lackawanna County Controller's Office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintain audit policies, procedures and programs.
- Preparing financial statements, reports, and analyses
- Maintain audit files in accordance with County, State and Federal guidelines
- As required, implement, review and execute timely reporting.
- Coordinates administration of overall day-to-day functions.
- Ensures the Controller's office is run efficiently and actively seeks opportunities to improve efficiency.
Requirements:
- Minimum (5) years managerial and audit experience.
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or similar discipline.
- Financial and/or analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and spoken.
- Computer, data entry and MS Office skills.
- Government general ledger accounting experience (i.e Tyler Technologies/ New World)
- Ability to handle private, sensitive, confidential information appropriately.
- Experience working with insurance brokers, companies, and policies.
Desirable:

Three or more years of Public Entity/Governmental experience.
