GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Under the supervision of a level II or higher medical physicist, this job is responsible for all clinical aspects of medical physics in the Department of Radiation Oncology.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Audits and reviews patient medical charts. 30%
-
Performs quality assurance/control evaluations on radiation producing machines. 20%
-
Assists with special clinical research and development projects as assigned. 20%
-
Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies and standards. 10%
-
Advises and provides guidance to dosimetry and therapy staff and provides consultation services to attending physicians. 10%
-
Assists with the delivery of patient care for special procedures. 10%
-
Other duties as assigned or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
-
Master's Degree in Physics or related field
-
CPR - American Heart Association
-
Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
-
Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
-
Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
-
One of the following within 6 years of hire or transfer date:
-
Therapeutic Medical Physics Certification - American Board of Radiology (ABR)
-
Magnetic Resonance Imaging Physics Certification - American Board of Medical Physicists (ABMP)
-
Magnetic Resonance Imaging Certification - Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (CCPM)
-
Radiation Oncology Physics Certification - Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (CCPM)
-
Magnetic Resonance Safety Certification - American Board of Magnetic Resonance Safety (ABMRS)
Preferred
-
Doctorate's degree in Physics or related field
-
1 to 3 publications in medical physics
SKILLS
