Maintenance/Custodian Worker
The maintenance worker, under the general direction of the Facilities Management Maintenance Supervisor, performs various routine/assigned custodial work and maintenance repair duties at the Delaware County Department of Human Services Upper Darby facility to help maintain normal building operation. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Works independently to clean and maintain office spaces, common areas, hallways, lobbies, meeting rooms and bathrooms routinely each day and additionally as needed. VCT floor maintenance - dust mop, wet mop, sweep, scrub, wax, polish and buff routinely according to a pre-determined schedule and additionally as needed. Carpet floor maintenance - vacuum, spot clean and shampoo according to a pre-determined schedule and additionally as needed. Empties trash bins from wastebaskets, hall receptacles, bathrooms and kitchen areas daily and transports to outside dumpsters daily. Move and reset furniture in conference rooms as needed for general meetings according to conference room schedule needs. Assist with transport of office supplies as needed. Must have knowledge in the use of hand tools. Perform general maintenance duties as required throughout the day. Repair/replace defective parts in office systems furniture as required. Checks in with the Department of Human Services Administrative Officer daily for non-routine assignment requests daily. Any and all other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:
2-3 years' experience in respective trade and/or be certified if applicable. Must have a valid driver's license. All Facilities Management positions are required to be on-call for emergency situations.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:
Normal good health. Must be able to stoop, bend, lift up to 50 pounds and do prolonged physical tasks.Residence Requirement: The County of Delaware has a residency requirement for employees.
