Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a community hospital in Pennsylvania, requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience, Epic proficiency, and a PA or compact RN license.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit at a community-level hospital facility
• Work settings include Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, LDRP, Mother/Baby, and Level I Nursery
• Low-risk patient population with fewer than 100 facility births per month
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required as needed
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Epic EMR experience required
• Blocked schedule option available

Requirements

• Active PA or compact RN license required, no license violations accepted
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (AHA or ARC only); ACLS and AWHONN Advanced preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line maintenance, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitoring
• Experience with fetal monitoring including EFM, IUPC placement/calibration, and recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Proficiency in L&D procedures including vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation and recovery, and antepartum/postpartum care
• Experience managing obstetric complications including pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, HELLP Syndrome, postpartum hemorrhage, and preterm labor
• Neonatal care skills including neonatal resuscitation, APGAR scoring, newborn assessment, and use of radiant warmers
• Experience with pain management modalities including epidural anesthesia, IV conscious sedation, opioids, and PCA
• Previous charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Candidates undergo a clinical pre-screen to determine clinical fit before being forwarded to the manager; a manager interview is required
• Pre-assignment modules are required and must be completed prior to start date, typically taking 5–6 hours
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
• Travel pairs are accepted; however, matched schedules cannot be guaranteed
• May be required to care for COVID-positive patients
• Tobacco-free and fragrance-free facility
• Maximum of 7 days of time off (RTO) per contract
• All time-off requests must be submitted upfront at the time of initial consideration
