How you make a difference

As a Medical Director, you will ensure compliance with security regulations, provide essential documentation to the Regional or Corporate Medical Director, and facilitate ongoing monitoring of service delivery and contract compliance. You will also promptly notify relevant leaders of schedule adjustments to ensure seamless coverage, demonstrating your dedication to high-quality healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing comprehensive medical care within a correctional facility, including patient exams, infirmary visits, and documentation in EMR or approved forms.
• Responding to emergencies, supervising healthcare personnel, and consulting with specialists to deliver quality care adhering to policies and standards.
• Collaborating with the Health Services Administrator to improve patient outcomes through quality initiatives, including clinics, pharmacy monitoring, and community healthcare liaison.
• Reviewing and approving treatment protocols, policies, and disaster plans to ensure compliance.
• Providing clinical oversight, participating in quality improvement committees, and recommending enhancements for patient safety and care.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• Medical school graduate.

Experience

• Experience in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Public Health preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

• Current licensure within the State of employment.
• Current DEA number.
• CPR certification.
• Maintain privileges and CME requirements for practice in the State.
