Staff Accountant
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Staff Accountant in Hanover, MD. Overview: Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and contribute to the overall efficiency of the finance team. This position will be responsible for a blend of accounting and operational responsibilities, including transaction processing, account reconciliations, reporting support, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, working cross-functionally with internal teams, and taking ownership of assigned processes. Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities
- Prepare and reconcile account balances and supporting schedules
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Process transactions accurately and timely while ensuring compliance with company policies
- Research and resolve discrepancies or accounting issues
- Assist with financial reporting and audit support activities
- Maintain vendor and customer records as needed
- Support process improvement and automation initiatives
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial information
- Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Experience working with accounting software or ERP systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
