Is this you?- Engineer who can turn DFM/DTC insights into real savings without sacrificing quality or safety
- Analyst who builds should-cost models for aluminum extrusions, fiberglass mesh, hardware, and packaging
- Integrator who partners across engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, and suppliers to make change stick—across multiple facilities
- Program development : Identify and prioritize cost-reduction opportunities spanning materials, processes, logistics, and design. Create charters and roadmaps with savings goals and timelines.
- Product & material value engineering : Lead DFM/DTC reviews to drive material optimization (aluminum, mesh, components, spline), hardware simplification, packaging improvements, and SKU standardization. Work with suppliers on substitutions and specification updates.
- Manufacturing process optimization : Analyze metal forming, assembly, and packaging; reduce labor content, scrap/rework, cycle time, and material waste. Advance automation and tooling improvements where they pay back.
- Cross-functional leadership : Coordinate implementation across plants; keep PFMEAs, control plans, and work instructions current.
- Supplier cost reduction : Build cost transparency and should-cost analysis; support negotiations; pursue supplier consolidation, alternate sourcing, and value-engineered redesigns.
- Data-driven reporting : Develop product/component/process cost models; track pipeline, realized savings, implementation status, and ROI.
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- 5–10 years in manufacturing engineering, value engineering, cost reduction, or lean settings
- Experience in fenestration, aluminum extrusion products, building products, or similar (preferred)
- Sharp analytical skills; proficiency in cost modeling and should-cost techniques
- Lean/CI knowledge; familiarity with PFMEA and risk assessment
- Microsoft Excel and ERP proficiency; CAD experience preferred
- Ability to influence cross-functionally and execute complex projects
- Annual realized cost savings and % COGS reduction
- Count of implemented initiatives and ROI delivered
- Material utilization and scrap reduction
- Labor efficiency and cycle-time gains
- Returns from automation/tooling investment
- Office and plant settings
- Travel may be up to 50%
- May require standing, walking, and periodic lifting up to [insert weight, e.g., 25 lbs]
- Ability to travel between facilities as needed
