Job Responsibilities:

• Student Assistance: Providing tailored support to students with behavioral, academic, or personal care needs, including hygiene and mobility, in accordance with student care plans.
• Supervision and Safety: Assisting students within the classroom and during daily routines (e.g., lunch, recess) to maintain a safe, conducive learning environment.
• Behavioral Support: Implementing classroom management techniques, behavior plans, and intervention strategies under the direction of teachers.
• Collaboration: Working under the supervision of teachers, specialists, and the special education department to support student success.
• Transportation Assistance: Accompanying students to and from school on buses as required.
  

Requirements and Expectations:

• Schedule: Generally, requires a consistent Monday-Friday commitment during school hours.
• Ensuring students with special needs can effectively participate in school life.
• Location: Placements are made across the Pittsburgh Public Schools district.
