Airport Operations Team Member

Reports To: Airport Operations Manager
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and skilled individual to join our Airport Operations team. This hands-on role involves a variety of maintenance responsibilities related to airport buildings, grounds, and vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess a broad base of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing skills. Welding and firefighting experience are a strong plus. The position requires shift work and a commitment to operational readiness and safety at all times.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and repair tasks on airport buildings and infrastructure.
- Maintain airport grounds, including mowing, snow removal, debris cleanup, and landscaping.
- Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on a variety of airport vehicles and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and complete basic electrical repairs, lighting replacements, and circuit maintenance.
- Address plumbing issues including leaks, clogs, and fixture repairs.
- Conduct welding and fabrication tasks as needed (preferred).
- Support emergency response operations; assist in firefighting or safety drills.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with safety, operational, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain maintenance logs, reports, and inspection records.
- Operate light and heavy equipment such as snow plows, tractors, or mowers as required.
- Assist with airfield and perimeter inspections to ensure safe operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1–2 years experience in building, grounds, or equipment maintenance (preferred)
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, plumbing, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Must pass pre-employment drug test.
- Must be willing and able to work all shifts, including weekends, holidays and overnight as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Welding experience (MIG/TIG/arc).
- Firefighting or emergency response training.
- Experience operating heavy equipment.
- Familiarity with FAA airport operations and safety standards.
- Auto Mechanic experience
Work Environment:
This role involves both indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions. Duties may require climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and exposure to noise, chemicals, and moving equipment.
We offer competitive healthcare, vacation, and retirement benefits. Starting salary is $16.50 per hour with an increase to $17.00 per hour after A 90-day probation period.
