Senior Foundation Program Specialist

The Senior Foundation Program Specialistengages in activities that support and promote the goals, strategic direction and overall purpose of the Independence Blue Cross (IBX) Foundation, a nationally recognized corporate foundation and regional funder in southeastern Pennsylvania: Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. Established in 2011, the IBX Foundation leads initiatives to improve healthcare access, strengthen the health workforce, and enable solutions for better community health.

DUTIES:

Reporting to the Manager, Foundation Initiatives, the Senior Foundation Program Specialist will:

·Advance health workforce initiatives with a focus on leadership and innovation in nursing and nursing education programs.

·Lead the preparation and presentation of health workforce information and materials for governance meetings, executive and leadership communication, and speaking opportunities.

·Research ideas and recommend approaches to fund and expand health workforce initiatives and broaden program impact.

·Play a key role in planning and implementing health workforce program changes.

·Support and lead multiple related projects for external stakeholder engagement.

·Collaborate regularly to meet deliverables of the IBX Foundation.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS). Public health, health policy, or nursing is preferred

Minimum of 5 years of experience working with grants and/or non-profit program administration or related experience. Experience with philanthropy strategy and program planning is strongly preferred.

Ability to analyze information, think strategically, ask questions and solve problems

Knowledge of and interest in community health

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a professional environment

Must take initiative, have exceptional self-management skills and attention to detail

Must be a team player, eager to take on challenges to advance skills and support the success of the organization

Concrete experience working with and understanding of cyclical processes

Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams)
