Reporting directly to the company president, the Warehouse Manager leads a small team of warehouse associates. This is a working leadership role —you’ll not only coordinate and oversee operations, but actively participate in fulfillment and receiving alongside your team.
What You’ll Do Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Lead and mentor a small, dependable team with an emphasis on professionalism, respect, and teamwork
- Schedule and delegate daily and weekly tasks based on staffing levels and business needs
- Foster a culture of trust and shared accountability
- Step in to assist with daily picking, packing, receiving or returns processing
- Oversee inventory movements including receiving, putaway, picking, packing, shipping and returns
- Conduct cycle counts and spot checks to maintain inventory accuracy
- Collaborate with purchasing and customer support to ensure inventory availability and data accuracy
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with carriers and staff
- Optimize warehouse layout and workflows for speed, accuracy, and efficiency
- Support returns processing and special project workflows as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment
- Schedule routine equipment maintenance and coordinate with vendors for repairs
- Ensure availability of necessary supplies and tools for the team
- Promote and model safe working practices
- Train team members on proper equipment use and safe material handling
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and internal safety protocols
- Communicate with customer support to help prioritize urgent orders or resolve shipment issues
- Help plan flexible staffing strategies to match changing business volume
- Track daily performance metrics and workflow efficiency
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews for warehouse staff
- Prepare operational updates or reports for company leadership
- 2+ years of warehouse and order fulfillment experience
- Experience leading a small team or serving in a lead/supervisor role
- Familiarity with parcel shipping and receiving systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and warehouse management systems (WMS a plus)
- Strong communication skills and a hands-on, lead-by-example mindset
