Straw Construction, a leading Western PA Union Site Contractor with deep expertise in heavy highway, site work, and bridge projects, is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Project Manager to join our team.

This is a key leadership role where you will report directly to the Vice-President, taking full ownership of multiple heavy civil projects to ensure they are delivered safely, on time, and to the high-quality standards we are known for.

Lead projects for key clients like the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), overseeing the construction and rehabilitation of vital transportation arteries. Spearhead high-profile public projects that residents will enjoy for decades, such as building state-of-the-art sports facilities (synthetic turf fields, running tracks), municipal parks, and complex stormwater and utility upgrades

Job Location: Boswell, PA & surrounding areas

What You'll Do:

• Lead and manage all field operations and engineering for multiple civil projects (highway, bridge, excavation, utilities).
• Develop, maintain, and drive project schedules, work sequences, and production-tracking for all field activities.
• Monitor daily production (e.g., earthwork quantities, material yields), project scope, and budget profitability.
• Coordinate with Project Superintendents to schedule manpower, equipment, subcontractors, and materials.
• Ensure all work strictly adheres to contract documents, plans, and specifications (especially PennDOT).
• Track all work performed, identify and price change orders, and assist with cost control.
• Assist with estimating/bidding for new projects, leveraging your field knowledge for more accurate bids.
• Enforce and champion all company safety policies (OSHA, MSHA).

What We're Looking For:

• Required: 5+ years of progressive project management experience in heavy civil construction (highway, bridge, excavation, site development).
• Required: Strong, proven knowledge and hands-on experience with PA DOT / PennDOT projects, specifications, and procedures.
• Proficiency in civil estimating and project management software (e.g., HCSS/Heavy-Bid, P6, AgTEK, or similar).
• Demonstrated experience in heavy civil estimating, cost control, and change order management.
• Strong leadership, communication, and scheduling skills.
• A commitment to quality, safety, and budget adherence.
