Eaton\u2019s ES AMER NAS division is currently seeking a Business Development Manager Energy Transition - SLED West. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nEaton\u2019s North American Sales Division is currently seeking a Business Development Manager Energy Transition - SLED West to join our team. This position is eligible for a remote work setup within the continental U.S. \nPosition Overview: \nThe State, Local and Education Business Development (SLED) Manager is the primary commercial interface with targeted end State, Local and Education to drive demand. This role is responsible for developing and managing executive relationships across the Owner / Operator and Retail vertical, where utilizing partnerships will enhance Energy infrastructure revenues directly or indirectly in alignment with growth programs and market strategies. This role requires a solution selling approach and problem-solving acumen. \nIn this function you will: \n\u2022 Work with sales specialists and sales engineers who maintain the day-to-day responsibility for keys accounts that can help generate leads and create selling opportunities with end customers. \n\u2022 Maintain the primary responsibility for customers, partners and opportunities where coordination and leadership are required for a large State, Local or Education opportunity. \n\u2022 Lead and coordinate sales and marketing activities with sales and marketing teams, Industry Segment Managers, Product Line Managers, and Channel Managers to create end customer opportunities. \n\u2022 Drive cross division sales activity to package systems and pull through Eaton balance of product offering. \n\u2022 Develop and maintain (beyond immediate opportunities) key senior/executive customer relationships with select target customers to aid in the closing of orders and drive cross zone sales strategies. \n\u2022 Provide input during product and service development projects (including the Energy Transition Strategic Plan) considering customer needs, market trends, and competitor capabilities. \n\u2022 Participate with marketing team members to develop MARCOM deliverables such as value prop cut sheets, case studies, elevator speeches, brochures, etc. Participate in target trade shows and customer functions as required. You will drive the procurement process to allow State, Local and Education end customers to access Energy Transition Solutions through co-operative contracts or through strategic partners within the vertical. \n\u2022 Drive the RFP process where we find, vet and target bids with partners and give them fast turn-round support for strong proposal responses.\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications: \n\u2022 Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution required. \n\u2022 Minimum 8 years of experience in business development or sales within the electrical or energy sector. \n\u2022 Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future \nPreferred qualifications: \n\u2022 Master\u2019s degree or MBA \n\u2022 Experience working at a Manufacturer in either the EVSE, Solar or BESS industry. \n\u2022 Familiarity with sustainability goals and electrification mandates \n\u2022 PMP or similar certification a plus.\n\n## Skills:\n\nPosition Criteria: \n\u2022 Proven track record of winning large customer portfolios and navigating complex procurement processes \n\u2022 Deep understanding of energy and infrastructure programs. \n\u2022 Value Selling ability \u2013 application of Eaton\u2019s value cycle process \n\u2022 In-depth knowledge of Energy Transition solutions and /or services and the ability to use this experience in managing direct sales efforts: negotiating projects and obtaining orders \n\u2022 Advanced communication skills with internal personnel to ensure that the customer receives the best unified effort and service \n\u2022 Presentation skills \u2013 ability to prepare, present and lead communications involving complex technology solutions, differentiating Eaton\u2019s offerings to C-level Executives down to design engineers to win new orders \n\u2022 Expect up to 50% travel as determined by the business\u0027 needs.\n\nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
