Experience: 2 years of experience in software engineering and development in areas related to robotics or related. Requires skills and experience to involve: Proficiency in C++ and/or Python for general software development of Autonomy software. Industry experience in development of autonomy software/ fault handling. Strong understanding of robotic operating systems. Demonstrated understanding of motion planning algorithms and how different Autonomy subsystems interact. Demonstrated understanding of software development processes, including coding, code reviews, working with build systems, Ci/CD pipelines, and testing methodologies. Demonstrated understanding of the use of unit tests and software integration tests. Demonstrated understanding of simulation-based integration testing and hardware-in-the-loop integration testing. Understanding of code optimization and latency reduction, memory management, and code build times optimization. Demonstrated system-level skills and debugging skills to root-cause failures and bugs.
Job duties: The Software Engineer II position will develop autonomy software for self-driving trucks. Design, develop, and test robotic applications (software) for various areas that enable Autonomy. This includes but is not limited to dealing with and responding to faulted scenarios, developing code that enables vehicle behaviors, creating the necessary inputs for the motion planner to run, designing and implementing interfaces to help the vehicle interact and work with Remote Assistance team (and infrastructure) etc. Develop tooling and use simulations for autonomous vehicle software testing. Test robotic software changes via simulations and track on-road testing.
