Our holistic philosophy takes a pro-active approach to pain and symptom management and recognizes that pain extends beyond the physical. We address the symptoms of each patient's illness as well as the emotional and spiritual concerns of the patient, caregiver and family - assisting patients and loved ones with the challenges that come with death and dying.
Hospice care provides a way for patients to take control of their life and treatment, encouraging them to take an active role in the important medical and legal decisions that affect them and those around them. Our multidisciplinary hospice team provides a wide range of care and support, allowing patients to live out their final months comfortably, in control, and with the dignity and respect they deserve. , Handmade Blankets/Quilts Guidelines Thank you so much for your consideration of donating handmade blankets or quilts to Penn Medicine Hospice. These items are distributed to patients throughout the region who enter our services. We greatly appreciate your support for those at the end of life. Materials We ask that all materials used in the creation of blankets be synthetic in nature to avoid potential allergies. Please no wool. Dimensions All dimensions are approximations of what is most suitable for our patients. Lap-ghans 36-42 inches, square Shawls 18-24 inches by 60inches. Color Schemes All color schemes are welcome! However, we regularly try to provide Veterans a Red, White, and Blue blanket when they come on hospice service. Again, we thank you for your interest in supporting Penn Medicine Hospice.
