Lead Veterinary Technician

Position Overview:

Windrose Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Veterinary Technician to support our team and help drive daily hospital operations.

This role combines hands-on technical work with team leadership, including mentoring staff, supporting workflow, and maintaining high standards of patient care across dogs, cats, and exotic species.

We are a progressive, team-focused practice providing care for dogs, cats, and exotic pets. Our hospital includes a double surgery suite, advanced equipment, and a fully cloud-based system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support veterinary technicians and assistants
• Assist with training and reinforce hospital protocols
• Help manage daily workflow and patient flow
• Perform anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
• Assist with exams, diagnostics, and surgical procedures
• Support care and handling of exotic species (willing to train the right candidate)
• Maintain clean, organized, and sterile environments
• Educate clients and ensure accurate medical records

Qualifications:

• 5+ years veterinary technician experience (surgery/anesthesia required)
• Interest in or experience with exotic animal care
• Leadership or mentorship experience preferred
• Strong technical and patient care skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork
• CVT/LVT/RVT preferred but not required

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
