Security Engineer
Position Summary
The Systems Engineer II – Cybersecurity & DevOps is responsible for architecting, deploying, and optimizing secure systems and infrastructure across the organization. This role integrates advanced cybersecurity measures, DevOps automation, and AI tools to ensure robust protection and operational efficiency. Working closely with IT, infrastructure, and business units, the engineer upholds the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical assets, while driving compliance and continuous improvement in a rapidly evolving technical landscape.
Key Responsibilities: (including but not limited to):
Design, implement, and maintain secure systems, networks, and cloud environments using modern DevOps practices and automation tools.
Integrate cybersecurity controls throughout system architectures, infrastructure upgrades, and software development life cycles (SDLC).
Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for secure deployment and configuration management.
Monitor systems and security events, leveraging AI tools and intelligent automation to detect threats and optimize responses.
Lead or support incident response, including investigation, containment, remediation, and post-incident analysis.
Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments, and plan remediation strategies for continuous improvement.
Implement and administer identity and access management, including multi-factor authentication and least-privilege principles.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote security best practices, DevOps culture, and awareness of emerging technologies.
Document procedures, system configurations, and security controls for compliance and operational transparency.
Assess and validate the responsible use of AI and intelligent tools to enhance productivity and maintain data integrity.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in systems engineering, cybersecurity, or DevOps roles.
Strong knowledge of networking, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and security frameworks.
Experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes), automation scripting, and configuration management.
Proficiency in implementing security solutions such as firewalls, SIEM, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanning.
Familiarity with AI tools or intelligent automation in IT environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CEH, GSEC, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), cloud security, and compliance-driven environments.
Expertise in DevOps methodologies, infrastructure as code, and automation frameworks.
Exposure to AI-driven monitoring, orchestration, and security analytics.
Hands-on scripting and programming for security operations and system automation.
