HR Generalist
Role Purpose:
Coordinate and execute key HR functions for the site, with a focus on pharmaceutical recruitment, payroll and benefits administration, and the ongoing development and implementation of company and HR policies. This position is expected to evolve into a supervisory or management role based on performance and company growth.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead site-level recruitment efforts, including sourcing, screening, scheduling, interviewing, and onboarding candidates—particularly for roles in pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Manage and process site payroll in coordination with corporate HR/payroll systems, ensuring timely and accurate compensation
- Administer employee benefits at the site level, including new hire enrollment, annual open enrollment, and employee inquiries
- Support the enhancement and enforcement of company policies, procedures, and employee handbooks in compliance with company, state, and federal guidelines
- Partner with site leadership to support employee relations and ensure a positive and compliant workplace culture
- Assist in implementing training initiatives and HR-related compliance efforts, including labor postings and recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate employee records, including documentation for hiring, transfers, terminations, and policy acknowledgments
- Collaborate with corporate HR team and support audits, reviews, and process improvements
- Provide routine and ad hoc reporting to site leadership and corporate HR regarding headcount, recruitment activity, and compliance status
- Participate in performance review cycles and support ongoing performance management and feedback processes
- Act as the primary HR contact for employees and managers at the site
- Other duties as assigned to support the HR and site operational needs
Typical Supervisory Responsibility:
This position may evolve into a supervisory or management-level role as the site expands.
Education & Experience:
Education Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required
Experience Requirement
- 5+ years of HR experience, including payroll and benefits administration
- Prior experience in pharmaceutical or GMP-regulated manufacturing environment preferred
- Proven background in recruiting for pharmaceutical roles is strongly preferred
Technical Competencies / Certifications / Licenses:
- Strong working knowledge of federal and state labor laws and payroll practices
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- High attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) strongly preferred
